Party Time In the City!!!! Having fun on 84!

Well this day started off just lovely. My ex boyfriends ex girlfriend who has stalked me for the past three years just can't seem to quit, called the police and made me move my car which was parked across the street from my work beside where she works. No it was not bothering anything but I guess she sees it as a threat for some sporadic reason. Shay kept me company all day and then we went home to get ready.

We picked Kate and Kayla up and began to drive. After listening to everything from Hollywood Undead to Country, watching Kate Dance, and still laughing at the TC incident from the night before we finally made it to Bricktown to eat at Zio's. Well, Stoney Larue and Winter Jam were going on so every single restaurant and parking lot was absolutely full. We made an executive decision to drive to Norman and eat at Outback Steakhouse. Call us fatties cause the four of us put away seven loaves of bread and three drink refills. I couldn't even finish my baked potato after our blooming' onion! We then sped to the mall a block away and power shopped for fifteen minutes while the doors where closing in on us. I bought a few things at American Eagle and shay got some kick butt house shoe skull and paint splatter boots. We decide to change and then head to the Warren Theatre. When In Rome was an awesome movie but sitting in the second row? Not so much. I wanted to barf in my mouth when I look up in the very front row and a guy and girl decide it was a good idea to have an intimate moment the whole entire time.

Afterwards we decide it was time to head home. Shay gets the idea we should play Critter Critter until we arrived in Ada. Let’s just say she lost. Ha-ha we drop Kate and Kayla off at about 1:45 in the morning and Shay and I completely crash when we get home. I haven't had that much fun in a really long time! It was a great and much needed trip.

Day 85: Yearbook Parties, Work, Polo's, and Being There For Friends

Yes! Our Yearbook is finally complete! Mrs. Renes and the staff decided to throw ourselves a party, well because we deserved it! We had so much food and I think we will be eating it for weeks! I was so stuffed! From Dino Cookie Cake to celery we had it all!
After school, I head off to work for yet another slow day at the store and then go home to get ready. Shayla comes over and then we head to town and go out to eat at Polo's with Kate, Kayla, and Macy! It was fun but we totally stunk afterwards. Kayla, Shayla, and I then head of to TC's house.

Here is where the funny moment of the night comes in: Well okay long story short, Kayla is dating TC, Shayla went with TC to the Christmas Dance as friends, the next night Grandma tells Shayla her and TC are cousins, TC does not know this bit of info until now: We are sitting there and Shay gets wide eyed and I can see it is coming. I try to tell her this probably isn't the right moment when she blurts out "Hey TC, I found out we are cousins!" Yes the look on his face is insanely hilarious I was on the ground rolling for hours! He grew silent, then in disbelief, then angry, then kind of funny for two seconds, then back to angry!

We then drive around for no apparent reason and TC sets himself up for all kinds of cousin jokes. Later we get tired and Shay and I go home! THE END.

Lesson Learned: Always find out who you're really related to before choosing a date. :-)

A Little Bit of Praise Can Silence the Devil: Day 87

Kenzie and Gentry at FCA :-)
Today was a pretty good day! School wasn’t too bad and work went by pretty quick. I finished Dear John and was disappointed in the ending but it was still an awesome book. After, I got ready and headed to Victory Life to FCA. You may be wondering what the title of my post it but it is actually something I learned last night. After singing worship at FCA someone said that we shouldn’t worry about others think about how we worship because we should do what our heart thinks is pleasing to God. You shouldn’t worry about what others might think if you raise your hand, the way you sing, or if you close your eyes while you sing. If you are praising God then that is all that matters. This person was saying that a small about of praise is strong enough to silence the devil. It is amazing how much power a song can have. I really realized a lot because I do worry a lot what others might think when I should only worry about what is pleasing to God. Then this is where the message comes in and it was so eye opening. Self image was the main topic, and we talked about how much we pick apart ourselves and we follow the “trend” of what celebrities and magazines are telling us what to wear, how to act, and how we should look like. Yes, I am full out guilty because I am constantly reminding myself that I would like to lose weight or buy those new Miss Me jeans or have the hottest pair of shoes and it would make me happier. It isn’t that I just focus on wants and needs but a lot of the time those material things grab my attention more than my relationship with Christ should. God tells us that we shouldn’t worry about those small things. Ten years down the road you will be looking back saying “Why in the world did I wear that?” Fashion fades but your relationship with Christ never should. Fitting in the so called “popular” crowd, being an athlete, having a lot of money, or being class president doesn’t matter to God. I mean everything in your life matters to him but it is the way we serve Him and show how much we love and appreciate Him is what really matters most. As Christians we are called to be a reflection of Christ in our lives to reach out to others, not reach out to the magazine rack, look in the mirror, and pick apart the way He created us. What an impact a thirty minute message can have! Sometimes you just need a reminder to realize how blessed you really are.

Day 88

Tuesday nights I’m usually at a basketball game cheering for my pirates but this week is regional’s so no Tuesday games left me up with not much to do. School was exceptionally entertaining and there is always something funny happening like me, Reba, and Kate’s drawings in video class or roaming the halls for no apparent reason. After school I picked up my car because I got my windows tinted and they looked great!!! The only bad part is that I can't roll my windows down for three days!!! Goodbye drive-thru coke runs. As usual I worked goats, getting them ready for show and then got ready and went to town to get my nails done. So my lesson for today started right about now. One of the main guys that own's this has always kind of intimidated me for some reason and my luck he is the one who got to do my nails. But wait the story gets better....he starts telling me of how short my nails are and my cuticles are awful and everything else that came out of his mouth was pretty much negative. I wanted to say "Hey I know my hands are not so attractive! Why do you think I came to you?!” But instead I keep my mouth shut. Little did I know I would make a new friend. Later after my hand negativity we begin to talk about work and how we related to what we thought. Turns out we have more in common than I realized. We had a long conversation about work ethics, family, friends, etc. I actually ended up enjoying myself. I have always found that I sometimes enjoy conversations with people I don't even know because I always see things in that we have in common. I am usually one to analyze and judge someone whether it is good or bad before I even know them and that is something I realized in myself that I want to work on. It was a good day and as always a blessing. xoxo

Day 89

So last night was not too exciting. I get home, clean out the Stang, walk my goats, clean my room, munch on a Folgers burger, and watch the Bachelor. This show made me realize how stupid and fake it actually can be. Going on a reality TV show trying to find love that way just doesn't seem real to me at all. Anyways, after an hour wasted I talk to my cousin Jarrod for awhile. This has been the getting close to family part of this year. Me and him have become especially close over the past several months. It's really cool. We are about 2 1/2 years apart but you could never tell. We get along really well and I love hanging out with him. I always thought it was really cool when you would rather talk and text your family than your friends. Anyways I can pretty much tell Jarrod anything and he gives me honest answers and in a guys point of view. It's awesome. Anyways so we discussed a certain guy situation that I’m going through and then I finished up the night with reading this amazing book by my favorite author, Nicholas Sparks. The book is now a major motion picture called Dear John. I love the story. I think he is an amazing author because he writes some of the most amazing books and being a guy, they are very touching and romantic. As for doing something amazing today, well nothing too amazing happened.

90 Days Left of the Adventure We Call High School: Ready-Set-Go[odbye]!

Last Night I was looking at my calendar and counted down the days until I get to walk across the stage in my cap and gown as an adolescent and exit as an adult. Free but responsible. On my own. February 21, 2010 was the day I realized how much time that has gone by and how much I had left. Today, I have 90 days left of being a senior, being a kid, and being a Byng Pirate. Three years ago if you would have told me I would be here or gone through some of the things I have or I would be at this point in my life, well I would have told you that you're crazy. It's been a tough, fun, exciting, adventurous, surreal ride. I know an ending will only have a new beginning, but I should make these last 90 days really count. I've had the privilege to learn life lessons, forgive, be forgiven, fall in and out of love, and get especially close to my family. I really see things in a new light. This ending in particular is bitter sweet but I think it is a start to something very new and special. I've been accepted into Oklahoma State University and will be attending there in the fall not as a pirate but now as a cowgirl. Well let’s count down the days, make our own luck, do something EXTRAordinary.....live. Time is ticking....and it's saying ready-set-go[odbye].

Surprise! Kenzie's got a new ride! :-)

So a week before my birthday I was surprised with an amazing new ride! There is a funny story that goes along with it though. Saturday night (Feb. 6) Shayla, KaCee, and I decided we would go to the city and do some shopping. Meanwhile, my parents were also "shopping" up there to. I had no idea for cars though. I had planned on getting a new Honda Accord for graduation but no idea I would get my dream car even sooner. So we get back into town and I call my Dad to see if we can hang out a little bit longer and Dad was like be home at 11. (This is only an hour to hang out) So I decide to head on home. Well driving down Main Street I get stopped for running a "yellow" light. Yes he said it was red but I can put it on anything that it was a yellow light and I couldn't have stopped. As he rights me a lovely high dollar ticket I begin to think I am in deep trouble. So going every long way possible to my house I eventually end up in my driveway with tears running down my face. Thinking up excuses as I tread to the door, I prepare for the worst and with a month's worth of grounding in mind. I tell my parents the story and yes I do get a small lecture but nothing terrible...at all! Dad says that it wasn't anything he hasn’t done and that it was just an accident!!! Wow! Who would have thought! But $211 dollars would be coming out of my checking account to pay for the running of the yellow light. As Dad was telling me about his and Mom's day he grabs his phone and tells me him and mom stopped by and looked at cars today. Thinking nothing of it I was like that's cool and whatnot and he showed me a mustang. He said this one didn't have power locks and windows or anything but.....I bet the one in the garage does! My eyes grew huge and ran to the garage throwing the door open there sat my new 2010 Black Ford Mustang! All I could to was scream, cry, and go bananas. You see, I have ALWAYS dreamed of having this car! When I was a freshman Dad told me he would by me the car I wanted if I would graduate with a 4.0 GPA. Well my present came early for my birthday and also for graduation. I guess had work really does pay off! It has black leather interior and black carpet, a shaker system, serius satelite radio, and the lights even change colors! I love it!

Show Your Spirit! High School Bedlam=Byng Vs. Latta

Ok ok I know, I really stink at blogging but I have been so busy! Being tradition, every year when we play our rival Latta away, we always have spirit week and a caravan! Here are a couple of pictures!!! I can't believe this year is flying by so quickly. This makes me sad that this is my last time but I made a lot of good memories and had a blast! Enjoy! :-)

Trust: Giving God the Pen

With a lot of the events that have taken place in my life lately, yes if you are wondering, "love life,” I feel like this is an issue I have a lot of trouble dealing with. Sometimes it seems like I can never let go of something I have held onto for so long even if I want to. People change. Sometimes for the good, but other times for the bad. Right now all I can see is bad. I'm really guilty of being pessimistic instead of looking at the glass half full. I wish I could trust people but sometimes I feel like I am the only person I can or will ever be able to rely on. Like am I ever going to meet my Prince Charming, or am I going to be single for the rest of my life? Then something hits me. God. Wow the most important person in my life who has never failed me and i'm down here complaining and worrying about people who obviously could care less about my feelings or heart. I've realized you have to give God the pen. I've been reading on and off, really just need to finish it, this book called, When God Writes Your Love Story, by Eric and Leslie Ludy. They have to have the most intimate, religious, fun, energetic, spontaneous relationship with God and not to mention their marriage. Reading this book has totally opened my eyes and has changed my outlook on relationships. I need to get mine right and steady with God before I ever start one with another person. All together I have learned I can TRUST my Lord and Savior and that is all that matters. This book is a must read and i really encourage you to purchase it! xoxo Kenzie
